PETALING JAYA: High-riding Perak fell to their first defeat of the season in the Super League when they were stunned 1-2 by struggling Sabah at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu last night.
Minnows Sabah came from behind to end Perak’s nine-match unbeaten run with Leopold Otong scoring the winner for the Rhinos in the 60th minute.
Perak led through Mohd Shafiq Jamal in the 23rd minute before Jurenday Jumai drew level for the East Malaysian side a minute after the breather.
For Sabah, who are second from bottom, it was only their second win of the season.
At the Shah Alam Stadium, T-Team continued their giant killing ways when they downed defending champions Selangor 2-0. Mohd Norfarhan Mohd put the visitors ahead in the 59th minute before Indra Putra Mahayuddin made it two in the 84th minute. T-Team had edged Kelantan 4-3 on Tuesday.
Last night, T-Team’s Mohd Norfarhan had the first real look at goal and tested Selangor custodian Mohd Iqbal Suhaimi with a stinging shot from the top of the box.
But the former Pahang goalkeeper managed to put his body behind the ball to make a clumsy save in the 20th minute.
Selangor had a chance to go in front too. Skipper Mohd Amri Yahyah won a penalty when he was brought down inside the box by Norfazly Alias in the 27th minute. But defender Razman Roslan’s weak spot kick was saved by goalkeeper Mohd Syamsuri Mustaffa.
In Kota Baru, Kelantan regained their position at the top of the Super League when they thrashed Felda United 6-0 at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium.
The Red Warriors dazzled in front of their fans with Mohd Shakir Shaari putting the east coast side ahead in the 32nd minute before national striker Norsharul Idlan Talaha added a second with a penalty in the 42nd minute.
Mohd Nizad Ayub fired a brace (60th, 70th) before Danial Fadzly (81st) and Izuan Solahudin (89th) completed the rout.
Felda were reduced to 10 men after Abdul Ghani Rahman was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 42nd minute.
In Kuala Terengganu, Harimau Muda ‘A’ suffered their fourth defeat when they went down 1-3 to Terengganu at the Sultan Ismail Stadium.
